Jack Eichler, LPSOE in the UCR Department of Chemistry, has been selected as a recipient of the 2014 ACS-Committee on Environmental Improvement Award for Incorporating Sustainability into Chemistry Education. He was recognized for his previous work in designing and implementing a laboratory experience that gave students the opportunity to measure ground level ozone concentrations, and for his current efforts at creating a series of problem-based case studies that incorporate a variety of environmental sustainability issues. Dr. Eichler has been invited to present at the 2014 National ACS meeting in Dallas, TX and will present a talk titled "Connecting Environmental Sustainability to the General Chemistry Curriculum Using Investigative Labs and Problem-based Case Studies".
