Chemistry professor Cynthia Larive is one of 13 UCR researchers recognized by the American Association for the Advancement of Science as a 2008 AAAS fellow. Larive received this recognition for significant contributions in applying NMR diffusion measurements to characterize complex mixtures, polydisperse samples, and ligand-protein interactions.

In a recent article in the Proceedings of the National Academy of the United States, Dr. Zaera reports on the development of a method for the synthesis of Platinum catalytic nanoparticles of well defined size and shape (e.g. cubic, tetrahedral) that provide high selectivity in catalytic interconversion of cis and trans olefins.

Congratulations to John Limtiaco for winning one of six US Pharmacopeia Graduate Fellowships. These awards promote education and training of Fellows in the sciences that are applicable to the standardization of drugs, food ingredients, dietary supplements, and other applicable healthcare articles. John is a third-year graduate student in the Larive research group.
